Wellness Care
Our preventative health care plans span the life of your pet - from puppy/kitten wellness exams to senior preventative health screening.  Vaccinations, yearly heartworm testing and regular deworming for the prevention of zoonotic diseases are key components of a complete wellness care program.  At Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital we educate our doctors and staff on innovative developments in the preventative medicine arena; our clients receive the most up-to-date medical information, so that they can make the most informed decisions regarding the care of their companions.

Surgery & Laser Surgery

Our doctors have had extensive training in both routine and non-routine surgical procedures.  Due to advances in veterinary surgery and critical care, we utilize state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and employ trained technicians to ensure your pet's safety while under anesthesia.  The use of our surgical laser will help reduce your pet's recovery time, swelling and bleeding.  The use of a surgical laser also decreases post-operative pain and healing time.

Dentistry

Maintaining your pet's oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do to ensure that they live longer, healthier lives.  Poor oral hygiene can lead to periodontal disease, tooth loss and other serious health problems such as heart, liver and kidney disease.

We are commited to educating our clients on the importance of dental health, and we include a thorough dental screening at every examination.

Therapeutic Laser

As a cutting-edge veterinary hospital, we now offer a therapeutic laser, which is a healing modality that has been used as a successful treatment option in human medicine for over thirty-five years.  Therapeutic lasers are able to penetrate deeply into the cells to stimulate healing without generating heat.  The result of this energy equals accelerated healing with minimal risk of damage, and because the infrared wavelengths penetrate much deeper into the body than visible light, these lasers may be used effectively on bones, cartilage and nerves.  Whether long term or acute, therapeutic lasers stimulate healing and reduce pain from injuries, lesions and other chronic conditions in our pets.

Acupuncture

At Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital we are very fortunate that Dr. Chet Paluchowski is a certified veterinary acupuncturist.  Animal acupuncture can only be performed by a veterinarian and requires rigorous training and testing.

Acupuncture is one of the safest forms of medical treatment available. The insertion of the needles is virtually painless, and most animals actually become very relaxed and often sleepy once the needles are in place.  The length and frequency of treatments depends on the individual assessment of each patient's medical condition.

Veterinary acupuncture can be used to treat a wide variety of maladies and can assist the body to heal itself by affecting certain physiological changes.  For example, acupuncture can stimulate nerves, increase blood circulation, decrease pain and treat skin and gastrointestinal problems.
