During our regular hours we treat many emergencies right here, and when your pet needs a dedicated emergency hospital, we will tell you exactly where to go.

Call us at (908) 534-2321 right away. We will tell you whether to come straight down or head to an emergency hospital, and we will be ready when you arrive.
Emergencies we treat here
We are a full-service hospital, not an emergency-only facility, but when one of our own patients or neighbors has an emergency during our open hours, we handle these cases every week:
Laceration repair
Cuts and wounds that need cleaning, stitches, or surgical repair.
Urinary blockage in cats
Straining, crying in the litter box, or unable to urinate. This is a true emergency, so call and come down.
Swallowed objects
If your pet just ate something they should not have, we can often induce vomiting when treated quickly.
Seizures
We assess and stabilize seizure cases, and refer onward when your pet needs specialized monitoring.
When to go straight to an emergency hospital
Some situations need a dedicated emergency hospital right away. Do not wait for an appointment if your pet has any of these, or if it is outside our open hours:
- Major trauma, such as being hit by a car
- Difficulty breathing
- Collapse or loss of consciousness
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- A suspected poisoning or toxin
- Anything at all outside our open hours
