Dr. Steckroat was born and raised in Levittown, PA.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Delaware Valley College of Science in Doylestown, PA in 1985 then attended University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated 1990.  After graduation, he worked for a farm animal practice in the Pocono's for two years. Leaving Pennsylvania for New Jersey, he has been practicing small animal medicine for the last 20 years in Princeton, NJ.

 

Dr. Steckroat's specialty in small farm animals and pocket pets brings an additional niche to Hunterdon Hills.  Whether it's your family, dog, cat, goat or pockets pets, Dr. Steckroat believes through education and compassionate care your pets are in good hands.

 

Dr. Steckroat lives in Readington Township with his wife Leslie, his son Bryce, and a black lab named Taley. He also has three cats, Kody, Kami and Tucker and 8 Nigerian Dwarf goats. In his off time, Dr. Mark enjoys cooking, woodworking gardening, and classic cars.

 

Here at Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital, we feel that the addition of Dr. Steckroat to the team has brought even greater strength to the practice's solid foundation. Now with three doctors available and one on relief veterinarian, we can better accommodate our clients' busy schedules, while still providing the best care to our patients.
